Support Wyonda's Battle Against Multiple Myeloma

Donation protected
Hello friends and family,

My name is Courtney, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible mother, Wyonda Vann. She’s a 54-year-old woman with a heart full of love and compassion, and she’s been a devoted wife and an amazing mom to our family.

As a faithful Christian, US Army veteran, and dedicated nurse of 14 years, Wyonda has spent her life serving others. She has worked in ICU units throughout South Georgia and is currently a Labor and Delivery nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital in Albany, Georgia. Wyonda has previously worked as a travel nurse, helping short-staffed hospitals across the country and was on the front lines during the Covid pandemic - selflessly helping others during a highly uncertain and scary time. Words fail to describe the impact she's had on our family and those blessed to know her. Wyonda's kindness and generosity have touched countless lives, but now, she needs our love, support, and prayers more than ever.

In mid-December, our world was turned upside down when she was unexpectedly hospitalized for 18 days with acute kidney injury, leading to dialysis treatment throughout her stay. Since Wyonda didn't look like the typical patient in kidney failure, her doctors ran a number of tests trying to determine the root cause. This led to a bone marrow biopsy that confirmed a shocking diagnosis of stage 3 multiple myeloma - a rare type of blood cancer that affects the plasma cells in the bone marrow.

After multiple rounds of plasmapheresis, blood transfusions, dialysis, and chemotherapy treatments, Wyonda's kidneys began to recover and on January 1st she was finally able to come home. Initially expected to receive outpatient dialysis treatment, follow up appointments confirmed that her kidneys were on the road to recovery and further treatment would no longer be required. We are extremely blessed that this is one hurdle that we've been able to overcome, but our journey is far from over. Wyonda is now receiving high-dose chemotherapy and is preparing for an autologous stem cell transplant. She is holding on to her faith, family, and friends, but the road ahead is long and daunting. Due to the demanding nature of her job as a nurse, she's currently unable to work and with the cost of her received care and ongoing treatments, the financial burden is overwhelming.

That's where we come in - her family, friends, and community. Let's rally around this incredible woman and show her the same love, kindness, and compassion she's always shown us. Your donations will help alleviate the financial strain, allowing her to focus on her recovery and healing.

How Your Donation Will Help:
- Hospital bills and medical copayments
- Medication and treatment costs:
  • Autologous stem cell transplant which has a median cost of $100,000
  • Ongoing biweekly chemotherapy treatments
  • Received dialysis care

Every gift, no matter how small, is a reminder that Wyonda is not alone in this fight. Your love, prayers, and generosity will be the safe haven where she can find peace, comfort, and strength.

Let's surround Wyonda with hope, encouragement, and support as she faces this new chapter with courage and faith. She's always been there for us; now it's our turn to be there for her.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with your friends and family would mean so much to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
