We are hoping this fundraiser may help Cody and Katie with any extra expenses while they focus on Wyatt’s recovery. Wyatt is their son who is only 3 weeks old and has undergone unexpected heart surgery. They decided to take Wyatt to Children’s because he was having difficulties breathing. After further testing, he was diagnosed with Laryngomalacia, Stridor. It’s a high-pitched, noisy, or squeaky sound that occurs during inspiration (breathing in). While they scoped Wyatt to look at his airway, the doctor decided to rule out any other issue that might be causing the rapid breathing. It was then when they decided to run an echocardiogram on his heart because they were worried about it being possibly enlarged. They saw something that made them want a CT scan for extra measures, and that’s when they found he had a pinch in his aorta. Wyatt is just a miracle case! He was healthy considering he wasn’t getting the right amount of blood flow to his heart. They knew they needed to keep him and do the surgery as soon as they could before he did get worse. As you can imagine, this was a huge shock to his mom and dad. Wyatt successfully underwent surgery and is now recovering under close medical care. As they navigate this difficult time, we hope this fundraiser can ease some of the financial burden and allow them to focus on what matters most—supporting Wyatt as he continues to heal and grow stronger.
