Support Wyatt's Dad in His Battle with Lung Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Wyatt Schutz. This story is for my dad, Dan Schutz. He was diagnosed with stage three lung cancer.
My dad is the hardest worker I know. He's spent his life tirelessly providing for our family, pushing through every obstacle and putting in long days so my mom, my sister, and I could live with comfort, security, and love. He’s been a mechanic for most of his life – his hands constantly at work, fixing, building, creating. He’s the guy everyone goes to when something breaks down, and he never hesitates to help. Watching him, I learned the meaning of perseverance, of pushing through even when things get tough, he even raised a U.S. Marine.
But Dad isn’t just a hard worker – he's a teacher. He taught me how to hunt and fish, how to take care of myself outdoors and in the wild, also how to respect and appreciate nature. I remember waking up before dawn, heading out to fish or set up in a deer stand, just me and him. Those quiet moments in the woods or on the lake with my dad taught me more than just survival skills. They taught me patience, resilience, and how to find peace in life’s simplest things.
He's always been more than a father to me – he’s my hero, my role model, and the greatest dad I could ever ask for. His knowledge stretches far beyond mechanics and outdoorsmanship; he's the person I have always turned to whenever I have a question or need advice. Whether it’s about fixing the families vehicles or figuring out life, he’s always there with an answer, a helping hand, and that calming presence that makes everything seem manageable.
But now, my dad is facing his toughest battle yet: stage 3 lung cancer. He is starting Chemotherapy soon. He's given so much to everyone around him, always putting others before himself, and now he needs support.
We’re reaching out for help, not because he would ever ask for it himself, but because we want to give him a fighting chance. Every bit of help, every donation, means the world to us. It helps with his medical bills, with preparing him for the treatments, and with allowing him the time and space to rest – something he’s hardly been able to do in his life.
Thank you for reading his story. Thank you for helping us support a man who’s been the backbone of our family and a role model to everyone who knows him.
