Hey everyone! We all appreciate you taking the time to hear Wyatt's story. He's my 3-year-old nephew. He has a big sister, Khloe, who absolutely adores him, as well as he does her.
Since February 2024, he's been in and out of the ER. My sister Dawn and her family kept insisting more was wrong until this past weekend when they finally took an MRI and saw the tumor. Wyatt was airlifted to Bangor, then Sanford, and finally transported to Boston Children's Hospital by ambulance, where they operated the next day. The operation took from 10 a.m. to about 5:30 p.m., and he was finally back in his room around 7 p.m. That's how serious this was/is.
Wyatt is currently stable, making progress day by day, but he's still not out of the woods yet.
This is what they called it: lesions of posterior fossa cranial cavity, this is all we know. We don't have any clear answers, but they are saying he will need more medical treatment in the future. We don't know if this will be locally to them, or if they'd have to transport him hours away, or even how many days a week they'll need to go. We have no definitive answers at this time. We will answer these questions as they become clearer.
We are asking to help raise money so that the family can focus on Wyatt's recovery and not the stress of the world. As we know those stressors all too well ourselves.
Wyatt is an amazing warrior! He's fighting! He's a tough little man, but he needs the support of his family, friends, and loving community. Let's help them through this difficult time and come together to give them the support they will need in the future.
Please reach out to me for any questions. Leave their lines of communication open for them.
I also have other options if you cant donate here but want to help. A couple of local family members have offered to help collect in person and will get it to Dawn & Ricky or me on a daily basis.
We appreciate you guys so much! It means the world to us that you've taken the time to read Wyatts story. Many hugs and Thank Yous go out to you all!

Update: Wyatt graduated from ICU. He's now doing Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy as well. He has his good days, and his bad days. He's reaching small goals everyday.
Today, I (Susan) came to visit and we were allowed to travel him to the gardens in a wagon which seeming calming for him. He allowed me to snuggle him today! Omg that melted my heart! And he was able to slowly high five me, which made my day even more!
Slow, but steady progress! Wyatt is a warrior! He is very communicative with his eyes, and if he really doesn't like what's happening he'll let you know! We got some news, but have to wait for the details to be straightened out. We think he'll be switching facilities here in Boston, and they'll Wyatt & Dawns stay will be for quite a few more weeks for rehab and such.
