My nephew Wyatt is 15. He is now fighting against cancer again. We always knew it could come back, but you pray it doesn’t. My sister and her family recently moved to Florida, where they are facing this fight all alone. Her husband, Craig, just recently retired from the Army after doing nearly 21 years of active duty. He currently works as an over-the-road truck driver, so he is not always home.
I am the closest family to my sister Kati and her kids, but I am still over 4 hours away. I want to raise money for them to help with medical costs, transportation costs, and possible moving costs depending on his treatment plan.
On top of everything else, in September, Wyatt had a kidney workup, and all scans showed clear kidneys. Less than 3 months later, his right kidney is covered about 70 percent of the way with cysts, and his left is about 25 percent. He will also need surgery to get these biopsied to see if they are benign or cancerous. However, with how fast-growing they are, there is high concern. Wyatt did have a bone marrow transplant in 2014; we don’t know yet if he will need another one.
I will update this as we reach our goal and as he gets updates to his treatment plan. Please keep Wyatt and our family in your prayers.
