Support Wyatt James' Lifesaving Care
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family, two years ago you came to our rescue during the most difficult time of our lives, when our Finn was fighting for his life in the PICU.
Today, I’m humbly asking you once again to consider helping out my brother and his wife. Ryan and Rachel welcomed Wyatt James into their family last Friday evening, 2/7.
They were only home a few days before Wyatt began having episodes of turning blue and apneic breathing. Rachel immediately brought him to urgent care, who called an ambulance and transported him to our local hospital. FMH quickly realized that he needed a higher level of care and transferred him out to Children’s National in D.C.
Things took a turn for the worse and his o2 stats were tanking despite being on a ventilator. Ryan and Rachel made the difficult decision to go ahead with a lifesaving ECMO procedure on Wednesday night in hopes of buying time for doctors to figure out the underlying cause of Wyatt’s illness, and well as give his little body a much needed rest.
He is currently still on ECMO and will need to be put back on the ventilator once it’s removed. This can be a lengthy process. As the doctors told them, this is a marathon.
Any time in the NICU wracks up exorbitant costs rapidly, but life supporting measures do so even more quickly. Please consider donating to help offset their financial stress during this already traumatic time in their lives.
They also truly appreciate every prayer, call, text and message they’ve received!!
