Update: Wyatt underwent surgery at Dana-Farber to remove the suspect lymph nodes. Unfortunately, the pathology report confirmed that the cancer has spread. He is now undergoing immunotherapy at Dana-Farber in hopes of shrinking the tumor on his foot, which has grown significantly since the initial surgery.
The current treatment plan is to continue immunotherapy for six weeks. After that, based on test results, doctors will reassess and schedule a second surgery to remove the tumor on his foot.
We deeply appreciate all of your support, prayers, and generosity during this challenging time. Please keep Wyatt in your thoughts as he continues his fight.
Help Wyatt James Gardiner Fight Rare Cancer
Wyatt James Gardiner, a brave and spirited 13-year-old from Carmel, ME, is facing the fight of his life. Son of Lee and Jaime Gardiner, Wyatt lives with his loving family, including two brothers, two cats, and their family dog, Norman. Recently, Wyatt was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, Clear Cell Sarcoma, after having a growth removed from his foot in early December.
On New Year’s Eve, the diagnosis was confirmed, and since then, the tumor has grown back larger than before. Tests reveal that the cancer may have spread to his lymph nodes. Wyatt is now undergoing treatment at Dana-Farber in Boston, including a recent surgery to remove lymph nodes near his groin and a 6-week regimen of immune therapy to target the tumor. Unfortunately, Clear Cell Sarcoma is resistant to chemotherapy, making this journey even more challenging.
Wyatt is an extraordinary young man who loves hunting, fishing, and exploring the outdoors with his dad. His curiosity for animals, bugs, and critters has always been a source of joy, and he’s a talented artist with a passion for drawing.
As Wyatt and his family navigate this difficult time, they face mounting medical expenses, missed work and wages and the challenges of traveling for treatment. Your support can help ease the financial burden and allow the family to focus on what truly matters—Wyatt’s fight for recovery.
Please consider donating to help Wyatt and his family through this incredibly tough time. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Thank you for standing with Wyatt in his battle against cancer.
