Update for Our Supporters 2/18

We wanted to share an important update about my mom’s transplant journey. As many of you know, my dad was scheduled to donate his kidney on February 25th. During her pre-surgery cardiac clearance, doctors discovered a severe blockage in one of her main heart arteries. Because of this, the transplant has been postponed so her heart can be treated first.

While this was unexpected, we are so grateful it was caught before surgery. Her medical team believes fixing her heart is the safest next step before moving forward with the kidney transplant.

For now, my dad will continue working at the restaurant until a new surgery date is set. However, there will still be additional heart procedures, possible dialysis, and extended recovery time ahead. Your generosity is helping cover mounting medical expenses and will allow my dad to step away from work when surgery and recovery do happen.

Their Journey

I’m starting this fundraiser to support my parents, Wut and Suwanna (Tuk), as they prepare for a life-saving kidney transplant. My mom has been battling stage 5 kidney failure for over a year, and after months of uncertainty, a miracle happened—my dad was a match and is donating his kidney to give her a second chance at health. They have worked their entire lives to provide for me and my brother, sacrificing so much to support our dreams and keep our family restaurant running for over 30 years. With both of them facing surgery and recovery, we want to help ease the financial burden so they can focus on healing.

This fundraiser will help cover additional medical bills and keep the restaurant going while my parents recover. Lately, my mom has been working so much to help my dad with bills, even though she is struggling with her health. My dad has been working every day to keep the restaurant open, and their dedication and resilience inspire us every day. Right now, they need our help more than ever.
