Woody is a dog of many talents. He is a trained therapy dog who works with Alexis at Tut Fann Veterans Home, in Huntsville, Alabama. He is also an assistant at Island Dog Training Center.
When he walks into the lobby of Tut Fann, staff and residents smile and greet him with open arms. Mr. Smith was sitting in the hallway and having a rough day. When Alexis and Woody walked up to him, he was surprised and delighted to see this majestic dog in his Heart to Heart Pet Partners uniform. He threw his arms around him. Woody gently leaned into his hug, standing quietly beside him, content to give this veteran comfort and companionship.
Like his friends at Tut Fann who struggle with old injuries, Woody suffers from an old traumatic injury caused by being hit by a car before he was adopted by Alexis. It is imperative that he undergo a total hip replacement at Texas A&M University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. The donations will help cover the expenses of travel, surgical procedure, and two follow-up visits.
Woody and Alexis are in need of financial support to continue training other dogs and offering unconditional love, care, and comfort to the veterans.
