We have a collection of interviews and skateboarding footage with women, girls, and nonbinary people who have excelled in skateboarding even during times when the odds were against them. Our footage tells the long-fought battle of how women and nonbinary skaters persevered over the decades, and finally, sponsors and media recognized them and met their demands for acknowledgement. This is the story of how a subgroup became an integral part of the whole.

We need your help to finish the film. We are seeking financial help and partnerships to add more recent footage and for the final edit, music, and archival footage rights.

Interviews were shot on DV Cam PAL, mostly from 2000-2004. The archival footage is on Super 8mm, Beta Cam, VHS, and Mini DV. In order to get the the best quality out of this archival footage it will need to be taken to a lab for color correction and up-resing.

Our footage includes several milestones within the world of skateboarding. For instance, the world-famous X Games went on for eight years before it finally included women. We were able to get rare access to their inclusion in this and other events.
