Support WOC-UK on our epic journey!

You can make a difference by donating today to WORLD ORTHOPAEDIC CONCERN UK

Dear WOC-UK supporter

We are grateful for your support with this exciting fundraising effort.

WOC-UK supports colleagues in low-middle income countries in many different ways and has made real impact over the years. Our work includes supporting surgeons in training to visit centres in LMICs and forming lasting educational and research partnerships with them. We also support trainee/ newly qualified surgeons develop their leadership skills through the Future Leaders Programme. We help in many other ways such as sponsoring travel for UK examiners to assist with exams abroad (such as West African College of Surgeons -WACS- and COSECSA) and directly supporting educational, research and surgical programmes in these countries.

We are aiming to raise a significant amount of money and we appreciate this is ambitious. We are confident that we can achieve this through our vast network of fundraisers and supporters. What we are doing to earn this is attempting to cover the distance as it would take to get from Keele to Bujumbura overland (as per standard route mapping software), which is a jaw-dropping 15000 miles. Bujumbura is where the next main African exams (COSECSA) are and Keele is where we are having our conference on 7 June 2025, which also the completion date we set for the challenge. We are going to pool all our individual efforts to reach that goal through an app called challenge hound and you’ll be able to monitor the progress of the team through it (follow this link).

We thank you again for your generous support and for sharing this among your contacts for a bigger impact.
