Hi everyone,

I never imagined having to write something like this but I want to be honest about what my dad has been through and why we are asking for a little support.

Over the last few years my dad has faced an overwhelming amount of serious illness. He first suffered blood clots in his lungs which led to a pulmonary aneurism. Following this he was diagnosed with MDS cancer and underwent chemotherapy before receiving a stem cell transplant. After the transplant he developed GvHD and was accepted onto a clinical trial to help manage this.

As a result of ongoing treatment and immune suppressants his immune system is extremely weak and he is constantly in and out of hospital with infections. Even minor illnesses hit him very hard. He is currently in hospital again with pneumonia para influenza and a blood infection and is receiving intensive treatment.

Because of how unwell he is my dad is unable to work. His sick pay has now completely run out which has left my mum and dad with little to no income at a time when their outgoings and costs continue to rise.

My dad is a proud hardworking man who has always quietly got on with life and never asked for help. This fund is simply to help cover everyday essentials such as household bills food and travel to and from hospital so that his focus can stay on getting through treatment and recovery rather than financial stress.
