Hi! My name is Alex and I’m asking for your help to provide for our new foster pup!

On March 22nd, our 6-year-old pittie mix, Luna, made the journey over the rainbow bridge. She was diagnosed with Renal Hemangiosarcoma in January. I know she would have stayed with us forever if she had a say, but we have peace knowing for 6 years, we gave her the best life we possibly could.

You see, Luna was rescued at 8 weeks old. She was discarded in a garbage can when a Good Samaritan found her and posted her on social media. It took me 5 seconds of looking at her pictures to decide to take her, and the rest is history. She became my Soul Dog.

3 days after Luna passed, again I found myself scrolling social media, and then like fate, I was stopped dead in my tracks by Winston. Winston is a 3-year-old pit mix who holds the title of “longest resident” at the Crowley Animal Shelter. He has been there over 6 months, and his mental and physical well-being is paying the price. If that isn’t reason enough to want to help him, he just so happens to look near identical to our sweet baby, Luna. They share the same colors and same markings on their bodies, only differing in the amount of white on their heads.

This may be crazy, but the second I saw Winston, I saw Luna looking at me, willing me to go help him, and reassuring me that it was okay. I would have never thought I’d be capable of opening my heart again this soon, but Winston unfortunately doesn’t have time to wait.

We are asking for any assistance for his care as we go forward to give him the best chance possible at getting adopted (by us or maybe another family!!). We will use funds to pay for his food, toys, bedding, medical care, obedience/social training, etc.
