Winnie, my mischievous and cuddly beagle, has recently been diagnosed with a rare and invasive salivary gland carcinoma. Despite this diagnosis, she brightens every day by sniffing endlessly by my side on long walks, opening the fridge to steal cheddar cheese, and enforcing non-stop ear rubs by pawing me each time my efforts slack off.
To give Winnie the best chance at recovery, she needs specialized treatment at a veterinary clinic 8 hours away as my location in Canada lacks oncology services. The current estimated cost for her treatment, including surgery, hospitalization, pathology, and medications, is between $8000 - $11000, not including travel costs. I'm hopeful that her treatment will be successful as the mass is currently small, was discovered only in the last month, and there is no sign of metastasis yet. I have set a fundraising goal of $10,000 to cover her expenses.
Winnie has been there for me through many difficult points in life and now I want to be there for her. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and will go directly towards her veterinary care. Please consider donating or sharing her story.
