My Story: From Zambia to My Dream of Healing the World

Hello, my name is Winnie Nambeye, and I’m from Zambia, born on 10 August 1996.

I completed my high school education in 2013 at Chililabombwe High School. In 2015, my father made a great sacrifice ..he used his pension to sponsor my medical studies in China, because I had one dream: to become a doctor and help heal humanity.

Through dedication and faith, I successfully graduated from Yichun University in July 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine.

After graduation, I began doing volunteer work to raise funds so that I could move to a more developed country and gain better experience in the medical field. Working in hospitals back home was heartbreaking there were times when we couldn’t save lives simply because we lacked proper medical equipment. It made me realize how much more I wanted to do to bring hope and healing.

In late 2022, a former university colleague told me there were job opportunities for doctors in Dubai. I was filled with hope. Using my savings, I applied for a visit visa, believing the company would provide the ticket and job upon arrival.

Sadly, when I arrived, I discovered it was a scam. The people behind it were running an online adult platform, and when I refused to take part, I was thrown out of the villa with only my suitcase. Alone in a foreign country, I felt lost ..but by God’s grace, a kind taxi driver listened to my story and helped me find a shared bedspace where I could stay.

I later found work as a nanny and managed to renew my visa in 2024 through hard work and determination. However, in August 2024, the family I worked for moved back to their country, and I lost my job.

Since then, I have been actively applying for nanny and hospitality jobs without success. I even attended three airline interviews, which gave me so much hope, but unfortunately, none worked out.

Today, I am facing a financial emergency.. I urgently need help to renew my visa and pay for my DHA (Dubai Health Authority) licensing so that I can legally continue my medical journey and work toward my dream of becoming a licensed doctor.

This GoFundMe is my last hope to stay in the country legally and rebuild the life I’ve worked so hard for. Every contribution, no matter how small, means so much to me ..it brings me closer to stability and to fulfilling my lifelong mission: to heal, to serve, and to give back to humanity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Winnie Nambey
