Hi Everyone, We are Diana and Daniel, an engaged couple with 2 loving dogs Bruno and Wink, and we are kindly asking for your help during this time for our 3 year old dog Wink.
We are getting married this upcoming August and we wanted to prep both of our dogs for their stay at a dog hotel during our special week, which means it was time for Wink to be neutered.
Since Wink’s surgery on March 4th, he’s been facing complications. Our playful, energetic, 3 year old Lab mix, has turned quiet, immobile, and in constant pain with a full open wound into his body.
3 days after his surgery, we woke up to him crying in pain, and noticed his entire surgical area was swollen beyond size and bright red. It looked like he had a grapefruit grow in between his legs where his testicles use to be. Over the next few days as his condition worsened in traumitizing ways. We were bouncing between the Emergency Room and our Vet just trying to get answers. His testicular area and his penile area had blown up in size, his left leg started swelling with fluid, he stopped eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, and then Monday evening the entire area ruptured and exploded leaving Wink with a wide open wound cavity. He has open holes throughout the front and the back of his surgical area, leaving it wide open to the elements and prone for infection, which is why this is time sensitive.
The next day we were back at the ER where they told us he has an incisional infection that had spread to his leg and they would need to operate to fix the previous surgery. They would need to open him up, make sure that the infection hadn't gone up into his abdomen, cut out his sack and completely remove his scrotum, and possibly put in a drain depending upon how his body reacts. This would also require an overnight stay at the pet hospital.
Then they told us the cost. We were instantly gutted. All together with all expenses it will cost over 10 thousand dollars.
Anyone who knows us knows how much we love our dogs, and Wink is such a huge part of making our little family complete. We are doing everything possible to exhaust all our options, we are two stubborn hard workers that struggle asking for help when we need it, but we are exercising that muscle now and confidently saying, we need any assistance we can get.
Please donate what you can to help our boy. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this means to us.
