On Wednesday, Dec. 11th 2024 at approximately 8:01 PM, 71 years old Thiam was the victim of a struck pedestrian hit-and-run accident that nearly killed him. At the time the semi-retired Thiam was leaving work from Asian Food Market in Plainsboro, NJ. As he was crossing the street on his way to his car, a speeding car hit him and fled. Leaving him on the street severely injured. A Good Samaritan immediately called 911 after seeing him laying on the road which saved his life. Thiam was then rushed to the hospital with a shattered pelvis, trauma to his head, broken ribs and clavicle, and internal bleeding. He was in critical condition. As a 71 years old elder, it’s heartbreaking for Thiam to suffer such pain and anticipate a long long recovery. He already received a gruesome pelvic surgery and the cost of all of the medical interventions continues to pile up. To make matter worse, the guilty hit and run driver is yet to be identified, leaving Thiam and his family to deal with all the consequences. Thiam is faced with tremendous physical pain, challenging rehabilitation and of course the most worrisome financial burden from all the medical treatment for his recovery.

A little side note - Thiam lives with his handicapped wife and a daughter with Down syndrome. He is the one who takes care the 2 of them and now it’s a sad reality they all have to face.

El miércoles 11 de diciembre del 2024, aproximadamente a las 8:01 p.m., Thiam, de 71 años de edad, fue víctima de un accidente de atropello y fuga que casi lo mata.
