We are located in a diverse/multi-age area that includes seniors, college students, families, teachers both retired and working and people of all ages. Our goal has been to provide a place where people feel comfortable to look at books, shop for gifts, meet with authors, bring in their children and discuss books with others. We have also been a location that has supported local authors and artists and have carried many of their books and crafts.
After a slower winter we were just beginning to turn the corner when the Coronovirus hit. At that time we continued to deliver books until the Governor's stay at home order would not allow it and brought our business to a halt. At that time we changed our web-site to allow on-line books orders so we could continue to support you. We want to thank everyone who has and continues to order books from us on-line.
Before Coronovirus hit we were looking forward to the summer events near our store, including the Sidewalk Art Festival and the July 4th celebration which now have all been cancelled.
We have applied for all grants that we were eligible to receive. Unfortunately the demand for these grants were overwhelming and there was not enough to go around. Loans are not a viable option for us for it simply does not make financial sense for us to incur more debt. So, like so many other small business owners who are in the same situation as us we are using this fundraising campaign as an additional way to support our store.
The funds we receive from this campaign will help us get through this trying time, allow us to pay for rent owed, allow us to pay our vendors and help us weather the future until things are back to normal. This campaign will help support Winding Trail Books both in the immediate and over the next several months.
Wehave truly invested our heart, soul, time and finances into our store. It has been a journey of love. We want to thank everyone who has visited us, came to one of our events, ordered books from us on-line or puchased books in store.
Thank you so much for all the support and we hope that we can continue to be your local neighborhood book and gift store.
