Hi Everyone,

During a season meant for joy, celebration, and holding our loved ones close, one of our own is facing one of life’s hardest moments. Wilma Jones, a dear friend, steadfast supporter of her community, and cherished local historian was home with family when a fire began to consume parts of her house.

Friends, The only thing more powerful than fire is love, and I hope we can surround Wilma and her family with ours.

As we celebrate the season with family and friends, please hold Wilma in a special prayer or kind thought. I didn’t…and still don’t have all the words to fully express what she means to so many of us. True to who she is, Wilma was initially hesitant to accept a GoFundMe, but this is one small, meaningful step toward helping her rebuild. If you’re able, please consider giving what you can; no amount is too small, and every gesture is deeply appreciated. All funds will be directly received by Wilma and spent on items not covered by insurance.

While our love and support can never replace family photos, heirlooms, or the sense of home that was disrupted, our hope is that this helps lift the burden just a bit and reminds Wilma and her family that they are not walking this journey alone.

Even in the midst of all of this, Wilma did what she has always done… she reflected with grace. In her Substack written today on Christmas Eve, she shares her gratitude for the firefighters who courageously answered the call of duty.
