With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Willy Neema, age 22 our beloved son, brother, family member, and friend passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019, and his body was found in his home. The death was considered a “natural” death and we have not received any updates on the cause of his death even after the autopsy was completed. Although only 22, Willy affected many people in his lifetime. Those who knew Willy, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Willy will be missed dearly every day by his Father, Yagabo, his Mother, Alphonsina, brothers Vincent and Junior, Sisters Alliance, Joly, and Yvette.
Willy was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and grew up in Calgary, Alberta where he attended Lester B Pearson high school. He is the second of six beloved children to Mbona Yagabo and Alphonsina Bamvunyaki. Willy was working as a Line Cook at the Rec room while attending CDI College for computer and technology. He was deeply committed to Football and improving himself in everything he did. He enjoyed going to the gym, creating art through sketches and drawings and making his family and friends laugh. Willy cared about people in the purest way and loved them for who they were. Willy had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others and such a bright future ahead of him. The world is a lesser place without him. He was kind, hardworking and loving. Everyone loved Willy for his genuine love and positive vibes towards life’s everyday struggles.
This has been a tragedy that no parent, sibling or friend should have to experience. What happened is a shock for all, our family was not prepared for such a turn of events. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. Dear colleagues, family, and friends, please join us to help our family finance the funeral cost and memorial service that Willy deserves.
We would like to Thank all of you for reaching out to us and giving your condolences and appreciate any help that you can give.
