Help Complete Willow Starling's Transition Journey

Hello, my name is Willow Starling (she/her), I’ve been out and transitioning since December 2017, and I’ve written two books centering transgender characters - “Death, Judgement, and the Tower”, and “Tristana” (if you’ve never heard of these books, now you have ). My journey is almost over, but I need a little help.

Back in 2020, when I still lived in Michigan, I had the opportunity to receive a vaginoplasty paid for by my insurance. However, my hopes were dashed when an ex-partner had me falsely arrested (this same person recanted the charges soon after). When I was arrested, I feared that I would be forced into the men’s side of the jail (my fears came true), so when asked if I was suicidal, I answered yes to avoid being in a cell with men (I successfully got my own cell). After I was released, I tried explaining myself to one of the two counselors writing letters to approve my surgery, but my words fell on deaf ears and I was denied my second letter of approval for vaginoplasty (thankfully, nowadays, only one letter is needed).

Now, I live in a different state, and I’m giving vaginoplasty a second shot. I have found a surgeon who will take my insurance and am very excited to embark on the last lap of my transition journey! However, I still need to save up for additional expenses - hotel stay, gas/transportation, food and bills during first month post-surgery, etc.

As for all money that has already been raised, those funds will be saved for the above listed costs that insurance won’t cover.

I know I picked a hell of a time to start a fundraiser like this (loud and proud transphobia, everyone who isn’t a millionaire or higher suffering financially), but if you can give anything, I would be forever grateful!
