Hey for those who don't know me; my name is William James Dean. I'm a 42-year-old business owner, husband of 17-years and father of two (Girl-6/Boy-3). I was born in Manhattan and raised in Harlem during the 80's and the Bronx in the 90's. I spent my 20's and 30's in New Jersey where I gained my work ethic, experience and higher education. During this time I ended up meeting my future life partner and also gained a 5-year career as the youngest Substance Abuse Counselor within the largest Detox in the country at New Bridge Medical Center. That elevation in my profession allowed us to move back to NY where we had our first child in 2018. Since "it takes a village" a year later we decided to move closer to our parents who both happened to move to the state of Georgia back in 2009. That brought us to Atlanta first in the tail end of 2019 before we decided to become first time homeowners in Savannah mid 2020 during covid. We decided to start a family owned Window Cleaning company to allow my wife to become a SAHM for our growing family needs. In 2022 we had our 2nd child. During these years I've been able to provide for my family beyond my imagination as well as grow a reputation with my business that proceeds itself as an asset to this beautiful city enhancement and appeal one window at a time. All while navigating the difficulties and pressure of being a "sandwich generation" for my ailing parents who; my mother delt with brain surgery in 2020 to remove a tumor deeming her to live nonambulatory for the rest of her life. But nonetheless as a unit we have been highly favored from the one above. Recently my family has had to deal with another medical hurdle involving me which is what brings me to do something I never done before so bear with me. I always admired those who had the courage of vulnerability to go this route for help but never thought my life would be tested in such away that would make me consider to do the same but here I am. I created this GoFundMe because after numerous elevated PSA checks, a MRI resulting in a "grey area" reading, followed by a biopsy and bone scan it has been determined that I have Group 3 Prostate Cancer and in a few days I will be starting my 1st session of radiation out of 40. Though I have Market Place insurance the fight against cancer is costly financially, mentally and physically leading to slowly being buried in financial stress that I'm not sure I can withstand alone during my recovery.
