Support Willem and Max!

Our co-worker Maxine Blom and her husband Willem are the kind of people you want in your corner. Loyal, kind, and generous - they are those supportive friends who try and pick you up when you are down. And, now it is our turn to ask for help for them.


After not taking a sick day in the last eighteen years, Willem came down with the flu this month. Influenza B led to necrotic pneumonia. He has been hospitalized for more than a week already. He is intubated and sedated as the doctors and nurses try their best to rid his body of this evasive illness. Today, he underwent a long and painful surgery to remove the life-threatening infection from his right lung. Willem is not out of the woods yet. He is in ICU in critical condition. His wife and sons are by his side, as he fights for his life.  


Both Max and Willem are missing a lot of work, all while hospital bills mount. We would like to help them by raising some funds so that they can make their mortgage payments and stay in their family home. Please consider donating to our beloved friends Max and Willem.
