Hi all! I am Setting up this GoFundMe to support our friend and coworker Aubrie and her son Willem.

On June 20th, Willem and his father were struck head on in a collision on their way to Willem’s father’s home in Northern California. Both experienced severe injuries and are currently in the Intensive Care Units at Valley Children's Hospital and UC Davis Medical Center. Willem has suffered several injuries to his internal organs and spine. It is expected he will spend a minimum of 2 weeks in the ICU with further care/rehab to follow. Thankfully, Willem is conscious and sharing his opinionated thoughts with the Medical team regarding his treatment.

We are setting up this fundraiser to assist Aubrie with medical bills, travel costs, and any other expenses she will incur over the next several weeks as she sits by Willem’s side while he recovers from the accident.

We ask that you keep Willem, Aubrie and Willem’s father, Thom in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult road ahead of them.

6/24 Update from Aubrie:

Willem continues to heal. He’s still requiring Oxygen but his chest X-ray looked slightly better today and he might have the chest tube removed soon.

They found an additional fracture to his ankle and bruising to his shoulder.

The damage to his internal organs appear to be healing. Labs are stabilizing - “What was low is better and what was high is better”.

He is wanting water and to eat now which is good

Surgery planned for this Monday on his spine.

His summer and possibly the first semester of school will be spent at home healing, unfortunately unable to ride the rollercoasters he was just beginnning to enjoy or at Wild Rivers with his Mom.
