Will is a cherished member of our Colombian community, known for his passion as a dancer and choreographer. As a community leader, he was honored as the Pacific region captain at the Colombian ambassador’s residency in 2025, thanks to his dedication teaching traditional and folkloric dances to Fiesta DC participants. More than 80 people have been positively impacted by Will’s knowledge, charisma, and humanity. His work has been vital in preserving our cultural heritage outside Colombia, helping new generations stay connected to their roots and keeping our traditions alive.

In 2023, Will began an asylum process in the US, hoping for safety and a new start. While waiting for his court date, he was unfortunately detained by ICE and deported. Now, Will finds himself back in his country of origin, facing urgent challenges. Without a job and with limited resources, he is struggling to pay rent, bills, and cover his basic needs. Finding employment is difficult, and this process may take months.

Will is not only a leader but also a beloved friend to many. We care deeply about his wellbeing and want to support him during this difficult time.
