Support Wiley's Journey to Health and Safety
Donation protected
If just 26 people donate $25, we can get Wiley the medical care and safe home that he desperately needs.
This is Wiley, a stray dog found on Fresno Pacific University's campus last Friday. Wiley was roaming around campus and suffering from a severe tick infestation. He is at risk of developing Lyme disease and heartworms from his time spent on the streets.
Dan, a Marine Corps veteran and student at FPU, instantly fell in love with Wiley after he noticed Wiley was following him around. So, he took Wiley in but cannot afford to pay for his medical expenses or a fence to keep Wiley safe on his property.
My name is Brooke Barham and I am a senior at FPU. I am trying to help keep Wiley off of the streets and get Wiley the care he needs.
Your donation will go directly towards Wiley's vet checkup and heartworm medication (estimated to cost $150) and towards building a fence on Dan's property (estimated to cost $500) so that Wiley will not be at risk of running away and getting hit by cars on the highway next to Dan's property.
If you attend or work at Fresno Pacific University, you may have seen Wiley on campus. Wiley is around 6 months old and was likely abandoned in the area with no chip and a blank collar. Wiley had hundreds of large ticks embedded around his eyes, ears, and nose but was still happy, friendly, and wagging his tail at any FPU student who took an interest in him. However, he was clearly exhausted from the sheer amount of ticks that had been sucking his blood for so long. I took Wiley to the vet to be treated for ticks and he is doing significantly better.
Wiley is the second stray dog on campus this week, which is no surprise since local shelters in Fresno are at capacity and are refusing to take in stray dogs.
I am asking for support from the FPU community to keep Wiley off the streets. Please reshare so we can get Wiley the medical care and safe home that he deserves!
Whether you are able to donate $5 or $50, every bit helps. Thank you for any support you can provide.
