Help Build a Picnic Pavilion for Wildwood Acres Farm & Forest School Students and Our Community!
Wildwood Acres Farm & Forest School believes that nature is the best classroom. Students experience education in the great outdoors, engaging in hands-on learning that nurtures curiosity, fosters resilience, and builds strong communities. Now, the Wildwood Co-op is asking for your support in creating an exciting new addition to our school: a picnic pavilion that will serve both our students and our community.
What We’re Raising Funds For:
The Wildwood Picnic Pavilion will provide our students with a sheltered, outdoor space to enjoy their lunches, socialize, and extend their classroom experiences in a natural setting. This pavilion will also be a hub for co-op and community events, where we can host workshops and outdoor gatherings that bring people together to celebrate nature, education, and local culture.
We have already received quotes, and we’re aiming to raise $15,000 to cover the cost of the pavilion, the necessary cement slab and leveling, and picnic tables. The entire project will be built by local businesses, and we’re committed to sourcing all materials locally, meaning your contribution will directly support the local community.

Why It Matters:
At Wildwood Acres, we don’t just teach from textbooks – we teach by immersing our students in nature, problem-solving real-world challenges, and learning through experience. Our school is a fully licensed independent school that offers a unique educational experience that blends outdoor exploration with academic excellence. We are also proud to offer a supplemental homeschool program for students aged 2.9 to 17.
Our students engage in projects on the working farm, cultivating a sense of responsibility and respect for all living things. From gardening to animal care, from building shelters to outdoor science experiments, our students learn through doing. The addition of the pavilion will allow us to extend these learning opportunities, provide a space for outdoor classroom discussions, and encourage more socialization and collaboration.
But it’s not just for the students. This pavilion will be a place where the community can come together. With your help, we’ll be able to host local events that celebrate our area’s creativity, sustainability, and connection to the land.
