Support Wildlife Rescues on Whidbey Island
Donation protected
Help us get the wildlife of Whidbey Island, WA to care! My dad and I are a small team of volunteer animal transporters on Whidbey Island, WA, rescuing and transporting animals in distress to licensed wildlife rehabilitation facilities. I am a licensed falconer of 13 years and experienced in the safe handling, capture, and transport of all sizes of birds and other wildlife. I am also special permitted to transport all migratory birds through USFWS.
Most rehabilitation centers don't have the resources to drive hours out to rescue animals themselves, and there are very limited resources for transportation or help with them in Island County. We respond any day, any time, and ensure the animal(s) in need get to the licensed centers that have the ability to care for them. Unfortunately, this means a lot of driving and ferry fees that we pay out of our own pockets. We make no profit from this whatsoever, and with increasing amounts of animals needing aid, it's getting difficult to keep up.
We would be super grateful for any type of help with transportation costs. 100% goes straight into gas and ferry fees so that we can get these animals to care. I am so thankful to the wonderful community that has helped so far; you are so appreciated!
(Please note that we are not rehabilitators, just experienced professional volunteers that serve as drivers for these animals to get to permitted facilities. It is legal (and crucial) to transport injured or ill wildlife to wildlife rehabilitation centers.)
