Hi, my name is Esteban, and I’m a passionate wildlife enthusiast. This past January, I launched a wildlife monitoring project using camera traps in Hacienda Las Huacas, a biodiverse private property in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
The goal was to document wildlife activity during the dry season, and over four months, the results exceeded all expectations. The cameras captured stunning footage of pumas, ocelots, monkeys, and a wide variety of bird species—clear evidence of the rich and vibrant ecosystem in this region.
The project was originally self-funded and planned to last only four months, but the success of the pilot phase made it clear: this work needs to continue. I’m now raising funds to expand the monitoring grid, replace and maintain equipment, and keep documenting this incredible biodiversity throughout the year.
Your support will help cover essential costs like:
- New camera traps
- Batteries and memory cards
- Data analysis and storage
- Travel to and from the monitoring site
By contributing, you’re directly supporting conservation and helping us learn more about the secret lives of these remarkable animals.
