Wilderness! a new musical by Rona Moriah and Olivia Berkson will be making its NYC debut as part of SheNYC Arts Summer Theater Festival.
Wilderness! follows Mari, Beth, Cass, Julia, and Nadia, an unlikely group who find themselves stuck with each other in a failing wilderness therapy program for teens. They must navigate the ups and downs of their internal struggles and interpersonal relationships, all while learning how to make fires and properly poop in the woods.
Rona Moriah's book is witty and expertly navigates the balance of humor and authenticity. With a folk score, composed by Olivia Berkson, the girls reveal their thoughts, hopes and fears through catchy hooks and mesmerizing harmonies.
Wilderness! defies expectations, having been selected into the festival just 8 months after completion. This showing will be the first time audiences get to experience Wilderness! live on stage!
