This is a story no family ever wants to go through or even imagine. Wishing to remain anonymous me and my two children living in Melbourne have recently lost our husband and father after a long and crippling battle with illness. Even though we are a few years in Australia as a Greek-Australian family we are, life was normal until two years ago when my husband fell ill and began to deteriorate rapidly. Soon he became too unwell to work and we had to survive with only my income. As my husbands condition worsen i had no choice but to stop working completely and become his full-time carer, looking after him at home as he ended in palliative care. My oldest child had to put on hold her university studies to work whatever casual jobs she could find just to keep the family afloat. My younger child was finishing school while living through unimaginable sadness, watching his father decline. My husband just passed away a few days ago, carrying with him the agony of knowing that he was leaving us in such a difficult situation .Now in the rawness of grief me and my children are trying to rebuild our lives.Rent still needs to be paid.Bills still continue to arrive and while me and my children are actively looking for work the emotional weight of loosing our husband and father has made every step forward painfully heavy. This fundraiser has been created to help me and my children to give us some breathing room as we are trying to put our lives back together. The fund will go directly towards:Repaying the money borrowed to cover funeral costs, plot etc etc, including the memorial of my husbands dying wish.Covering rent and essential living expenses for the next few months as we work to regain our footing. No amount is to small.Every contribution is a message to us that we are not alone. If you cannot donate please consider sharing this page.Your support in any form means more than words can express. Thank you.
