Support Whitney Lozano's Heart Transplant Journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brandon Lozano, and I’m writing on behalf of my incredible mother, Whitney Lozano. For the past 20 years, my mom has been a shining example of resilience and strength, overcoming every challenge life has thrown her way.

When my mom was pregnant with my sister, Parris, she was diagnosed with Pregnancy-Induced Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart). It was a terrifying time for all of us, but after a long hospital stay and the implantation of a defibrillator, she was able to come home and continue living her life. Despite her heart’s condition, she has been a fighter, managing to live a relatively normal life for two decades.

For the last four years, her heart function has been extremely low, but even with a heart infraction of just 25%, she still thrived. However, just over a month ago, her heart stopped. Miraculously, her defibrillator saved her life, bringing her back after being medically dead for 13 seconds.

A month later, while at work, she felt unwell again and rushed herself to the hospital, where we received devastating news: she is now in Category D Congestive Heart Failure, the most severe stage. Her heart is no longer responding to medication, and the only option left is a heart transplant.

She now faces a long (6-12 months) and challenging process of tests and procedures to determine if she’s a candidate for a transplant. Unfortunately, during this time, she cannot work and has been advised to rest, which means she will be without any income.

While my mom lives a simple and frugal life, her basic expenses like rent and bills still need to be covered, and as much as our family has tried to help, we simply can’t do it alone. That’s why I’m reaching out to you, our friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, for help.

My mom is one of the strongest people I know, and despite everything she’s been through, she remains hopeful. We are asking for donations to help her stay afloat financially over the next few months as she embarks on this difficult journey to a heart transplant. Every little bit helps, and we are deeply grateful for your support, whether through a donation or by sharing her story.

Thank you so much for reading, and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering a donation.

With gratitude,
Brandon Lozano
