This is my first time using GoFundMe. My family (my 2 daughters and me) have rescued many cats and dogs, some abroad, and took care of them fully till adoption including all veterinary expenses, food, and other things needed. We are still sponsoring 3 dogs that are in a sanctuary with monthly payments and have 11 rescued cats in our house, some with special needs.
Two weeks ago, we saw a post about this blind, emaciated, and very skittish cat on the street that was going in circles. We are overwhelmed physically and financially, with no space, some days we are restless with our trips to ER or to the regular vet, with the daily treatments and care of the cats.
But since nobody responded to the post with an offer to help, we had no choice but to take that poor kitty off the streets before he got under a car or was harmed by other animals.
We took him in and have him in our bathroom as there is no other space for him to be by himself and not to be scared of voices or movements. He was infested by fleas, ear mites, he’s only bones and skin, has a lot of discharge from eyes and ears, has multiple cuts on his body. We already took him to the vet two times, got medications for his treatment. But unfortunately, he has a long way to go… Apparently, Whitey (that’s his new name) is not fully blind, after antibiotics and eye drops, he sees but definitely not good. He also has major hearing issues. The veterinarian has suspicions that he has some growth in his ears, mostly in the left ear. Hoping it’s only benign polyps. He also has major teeth issues. But to take care of those issues, he needs to be sedated and have a full exam and most probably surgery on ears, teeth. He also needs to be fixed.
Unfortunately, I am currently on disability with very little payments and my daughters are also struggling to keep up with all the expenses we are having to keep our healthy and happy. We don’t have the funds, but we can’t be bystanders when it comes to the lives of these innocent fur babies.
So for the first time, I am asking for your help to raise the funds to cover the expenses to save Whitey. He is 2 years old but already had a very rough life. I think if we get together, we can make a change in his life and give him the chance to be that happy kitty he was born to be.
Any amount may make a big difference, any penny will play a role in his wellbeing. We will appreciate any amount you could contribute towards his brighter life.
