Be part of a heartwarming contemporary coming-of age film!
When We Make It is a zero-budget coming of age film about recent college grads in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The film follows a group of friends- an optimistic artist, her recently-engaged brother, his disabled fiancé and their cynical best friend- as they desperately try to achieve their dreams and build the lives they wish to live in their dead-end hometown. Much like our characters, we are a scrappy local volunteer crew with a shoestring budget and a dream. Every person makes a big impact- donate to be part of our story.
This film began as stories my friends would tell- post-grad tales of crappy bosses, health issues, lost loves and dreams that feel like they're slipping further and further away. When We Make It is viscerally grounded in the real-life struggles today’s young people are facing across the nation: a stagnant job market, low wages, loss of health insurance, and rising cost of living. We feel cut off from our promised dreams of marriage, career, and self-determination. "When We Make It" is a coming-of-age film for today's young adults- a chance for young people to feel seen. The story's universality and timeless themes bridges the gap between generations with art. This is the story of our friends, our neighbors, and ourselves- written down and brought to life on screen.
Be part of telling this story we all live. All money goes first to support our volunteer film crew and production. The more we raise, the more we unlock new possibilities for our film- film festival competition fees, renting local theatres for screenings, paid social media ads, and uploading our film to a film distribution aggregator to get our film on streaming services like AppleTV, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.
Our team feels the impact of each and every one of you every single day on set. Thank you for being part of our story. Now, let's make a movie!
