Hello family and friends. We have been home from the hospital and have been trying to adjust to the “new season” and it’s been rough. Westly is one of the strongest littles I’ve ever known to exist and this has been the hardest most painful experience for him.

This GoFundMe will help cover Westly’s insurance costs and bills which are piling up. Westly is severely underweight and won’t be on diet restrictions as he needs to gain weight and will start physical therapy. (You can see he has no muscle and is physically struggling to move around)

I’ve never heard of drain pain before and I believe due to his special case of having Prune Belly Syndrome (no stomach muscles) the pain is intensified and we currently are not able to sleep until morning time after treatment. This can be caused more so by constipation. (He takes large amounts of stool softeners and miralax to keep it at bay but makes him near incontinent.) We experienced this drain pain in the hospital but it improved giving us the ability to go home. We may have to keep him from school as well until we can get it to subside. I was hoping things would have stayed that way as we departed from the hospital but it’s remaining a wild bumpy ride.

There is another treatment option available but that would require moving closer to San Francisco or Stanford for Hemodialysis which isn’t feasible and a last resort.

We have many good moments though. I don’t want to come off as he doesn’t have smiles or cracks a laugh but we are definitely burnt out. As someone who is stubborn and hates asking for help I feel that individually I am not capable without having a support group. As a mother I need to be his rock. I think outings with families and friends, getting his physique up is a great idea too. I really want him to have the happiest memories.

I’m hopeful we will find our way! I mean look at this amazing beautiful child. He’s got the juice! ♥️
