**Help Us Save a Program That Works**
Hi, I’m Yolanda Randles, Executive Director of the West Fresno Family Resource Center (WFFRC). As we celebrate 25 years of service to the West Fresno community, we are also facing a critical moment.
After 9 years of proven impact, the Sweet Potato Project II, a community defined evidence practice, is scheduled to end on June 30 due to cuts in State and County funding. While we have pursued additional funding opportunities, we have not yet secured the resources needed to sustain the program.
WFFRC continues to do the critical, on-the-ground work that the State, City, and County often cannot reach—providing direct, trusted support to youth and families in our community. Without immediate support, hundreds of young people will lose access to this life-changing program.
What is the Sweet Potato Project II?
The Sweet Potato Project II combines agriculture, entrepreneurship, and mental health support. It helps youth build confidence, leadership, and real-world skills while creating pathways to success.
**Impact:**
* 500+ youth served
* GPA increased from 1.92 to 3.3
* 90% program completion rate
* Participants have gone on to become first-generation graduates, college students, and military service members
Families consistently describe the program as a safe space for growth, connection, and opportunity.
We have launched a GoFundMe campaign to continue this vital work and are asking for your support:
**How you can help:**
* Make a contribution if you are able
* Share the GoFundMe link with your networks
* Promote the campaign through your communication channels
* Connect us with potential donors, partners, or funding opportunities
This program works. These youth matter. Without your support, this successful gang prevention and entrepreneurial program will end.
Thank you for your leadership, partnership, and commitment to our community.
