We are reaching out today to share the story of an extraordinary man- Wes. A husband, father of 6, grandfather of 13 (going on 14) grandkids, son, brother (blood & blue), Airforce veteran, former police officer, and helicopter pilot.
Wes was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of brain cancer called Glioblastoma after having brain surgery back in January of 2021. Despite the odds and survival rate of GBM, he has never given up and been defying these odds for 4 years now. In 2023, his tumor grew back and started moving into the insula which unfortunately made it inoperable. Wes refused to give up and after several unsuccessful clinical trials, he began immunotherapy. His scans were stable until September of 2024 when it started to grow again. He started a new form of chemo as well as continuing immunotherapy but in January of 2025, it started progressing even more.
On February 7th, the family received the news they feared the most- the tumor had significantly grown by 20% in a matter of 3 weeks and MD Anderson said there is nothing more they can do so discontinued all forms of treatment. After several days of grieving the news and having the hardest conversations, Wes decided he’s still not ready to throw in the towel and the family started exploring all holistic options as well as seeking second opinions.
But he now faces another hurdle and Diane and him need to lean on their village more than ever before. Cancer treatment has been a grueling and expensive process, and despite his determination and strength to maintain his health through the last 4 years, the financial burden has become overwhelming. This where we need your support and help.
Please consider donating to our GoFundMe for Wes to help ease some of the financial pressure and stress so he and Diane can focus on his treatment. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support. Every little bit helps. #fightforWes
