On New Year's Eve, Wesley was rushed to the hospital after developing a deep cough and a rash that quickly spread across his entire body. Within hours, his condition became critical, and he was transferred to OU Children’s hospital. There, Wesley was immediately placed in the ICU as he battled a dangerously high fever, very low blood pressure, and inflamed organs. The medical team worked tirelessly through the night, running tests and performing ultrasounds to determine the cause. After aggressive treatment and medication, Wesley’s fever finally broke and his blood pressure stabilized. The doctors initially suspected MIS or toxic shock syndrome, as the symptoms are very similar. As of today, MIS has been ruled out, and they are treating Covid and toxic shock syndrome.

This has been an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for Wesley and his family. Ty and Ashlie have been by his side every step of the way, supporting their son through each new challenge. The costs of medical care, travel to and from the hospital, and everyday bills are quickly adding up, creating an extra layer of stress during an already overwhelming situation.
