Support Wes & Nina Moore with her battle with ALS

Many of you know our brother, Wesley Moore Jr (aka, Wes or Ronnie), and his lovely Bride, Nina of 30 years.

A little over 10 years ago, Nina started having problems with the nerves in her arms. She went to several Drs in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area and could never really get a diagnosis. About 3 years ago, they moved to Waldo Florida, just outside of Gainesville, to be near their 2 sons and growing families - one who was about to make them grandparents and one who was about to get married. They found a doctor there that eventually diagnosed her with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. We all know this is a terrible disease. Since the diagnosis, her condition has worsened. Nina has lost the use of both her arms and her legs. She can no longer feed herself or take care of of herself in any capacity. Wes is now her full time caretaker. Nina is the love of his life and he takes such gentle and loving care of her; he truly embodies the vows of ‘through sickness and in health.’ He is able to work from home most days. When he can’t, their sons, Donovan & Luke, and their families, are there to help.

Wes does have insurance, however, you can imagine the out of pocket expenses that can quickly add up, including medications, & continuous rental fees for several pieces of equipment to assist with her care; this just scratches the surface.

At this time they are in need of a wheelchair accessible van. Any gracious donations toward this goal would help cover the cost of the van and any other expenses to continue giving the best care of our loving, Nina.
