Many of you know Werner as the guy who lights up a room the moment he walks in. He’s the friend who would give you the shirt off his back, the one who makes you laugh when you least expect it, and the kind of person who quietly shows up for others without being asked.
Every Christmas since living at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Werner has baked 15–20 upside-down pineapple cakes and personally delivered them to the restaurant staff and gate attendants — simply to say thank you. That’s who he is.
On Saturday evening, Werner was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He was transported to the ICU with four broken ribs and significant injuries. He has undergone surgery to stabilize his ribs and is currently being closely monitored as he recovers. Thankfully, at this time, there are no confirmed head injuries.
While we are deeply grateful that he is alive and receiving excellent medical care, the road to recovery will take time. Werner recently began a new full-time job and has also been working part-time to make ends meet. Because of his injuries, he is unable to work and will be facing mounting rent, utilities, medical expenses, and basic living costs during his recovery.
We are raising funds to help cover:

• Basic living expenses during recovery
• Transportation needs
Werner has always shown up for others with generosity, warmth, and heart. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
