On the morning of Saturday, October 25, Wendy James-Richards' life was turned upside down when a catastrophic fire ravaged her home. Living on a fixed income from Social Security, Wendy had little beyond the comfort of her home, which is now left in ruins. While Wendy was fortunate enough to escape the blaze unharmed, along with her beloved dog and cat, she now faces the overwhelming task of rebuilding everything she’s lost.

The Fire:

Around 5:30 AM, firefighters were called to the scene, where they found heavy smoke and flames engulfing the back of Wendy’s home. Thankfully, Wendy and her dog made it out safely, but her cat was found unconscious inside. Thanks to the efforts of the fire crew, her cat was rescued and is now recovering. Despite this, the damage to her home is extensive, making it uninhabitable.
