I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends and their family, who have navigated an incredibly difficult and overwhelming year. Over the past twelve months, Wendy has faced serious health challenges and remains under ongoing oncology care. Shortly after her diagnosis, her husband Sam was also diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery. While both are thankfully on the road to recovery, their journey is far from over.

Sam, a dedicated school teacher, took an extended leave from work to care for Wendy during her treatment. This necessary time away, combined with circumstances beyond their control, has resulted in a significant loss of income, substantial out-of-pocket expenses, and mounting debt. They are now facing overwhelming medical bills and financial strain alongside the daily costs of living. Despite these hardships, Wendy and Sam continue to move forward with resilience and grace.

In addition to teaching, Sam is a talented craftsman who creates beautiful custom pieces, including handcrafted dog crates and gun safes, to help support his family during this time.
