Support Wendy (Houska) Hayes in Her Cancer Battle

Hi Everyone,

My name is Alex and this fundraiser is for our dear friend Wendy (Houska) Hayes. I met Wendy last fall 2023 through our work as school bus drivers for the Saint Paul School District. We became fast friends and I enjoyed seeing her bright smiling face every day. It is my privilege to share her story with you in order to raise funds to help support her in this journey.

Wendy has been battling breast cancer since being diagnosed on Halloween 2023. Since her diagnosis, she has endured 7 months of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation to combat the cancer.

She thought the chemotherapy had been successful and could return to work this August. Unfortunately, she just received an additional diagnosis of RCB (Residual Cancer Burden) of 2, which means the cancer has a chance of reoccurring within 5 years. So she now has to undergo another 5 months of oral chemotherapy and cannot return to work until January 2025.

Wendy will have been out of work for more than a year by the time she has completed treatment. She has a lot of medical expenses piling up and is paying what she can, but the bills keep coming. We want to help her with her bills so she can focus on getting well.
