My name is Mindi, and Wendi Engstrom is my twin sister. She is battling cancer for the 2nd time in her life. 18 years ago she had 2B breast cancer. She is now battling a very rare and aggressive cancer called Neuro Endocrine Carcinoma that affects 2 in 100,000 people. Wendi is also in the .1 % where this cancer starts in the breast. Wendi and her husband Mark make the trip to MD Anderson in Houston Texas (3 hour drive) every three weeks for her to receive 4 days of treatment. She will be receiving her final chemo treatment on Wednesday, March 13th. In April she will receive a double mastectomy. She will be in Houston, away from her 2 children (George and Ella) for at least 3 weeks. The recovery will be long and difficult (6-8 weeks). Insurance is taking care of a portion of the bills, but not 100%. These bills, along with meals, gas, wear and tear on their vehicle, and expenses for the children are still expected. The Engstrom family have a strong belief system and God is definitely in the midst. Anything you can donate to help them through this tough time is appreciated.
