Wendi and TJ have always been the kind of people who handle life’s challenges independently. Asking for help does not come easily to them. TJ will now need to take FMLA leave to help care for Wendi—time that will be unpaid. TJ's loss of income during this time of caretaking is the biggest stressor they are facing.

High deductibles, co-pays, additional medical bills, and more intensive reconstruction after radiation are creating expenses that are difficult to manage all at once. The added strain of reduced income during this time only compounds the challenge.
