My name is Meaghan and I am Wendell's "sister" aka best friend. I am trying to help him through the end of his life. My friend has stage 4 cancer. We are both writing this together. We are trying to raise money to help the end of his time here be as comfortable as possible. We both would like him to stay in his rental home for as long as he can, and being unable to work has caused concerns for that. In addition, I would like for him to have options to move into a decent facility when he can no longer be at home or ideally, afford Hospice and nurses to care for him at his home. As driven as he has been to try and go back to work, he is mostly unable to drive due to his vision and inability to walk in a stable manner on his own. Wendell needs help with medical needs, food, rent, DTE, dog care, cleaning and rides. He also needs help with emotional support, as sitting alone in his room for months on end has not supported his will to keep going. My best friend has changed my life. He has been there for me through my worst moments and helped mold me into who I am today. Wendell has worked in animal medicine for 27 years. He has cared for and helped animals, and their families, for as long as I can remember. He has helped many people through their worst times. He is a remarkable human and I will be with him until the end.
