My name is Wendell Blackshare. A resident of Minnesota for 40 years. I worked successfully as a Sous Chef and met some of the most amazing people.

On July 5th, 2023, my life changed. On my way home from grocery shopping, I experienced diabetic blackout due to very low blood sugar. As a result, I had a car accident and suffered serious spinal cord injury, severe enough that I have been confined to a wheelchair ever since.

As part of my rehabilitation, I attend appointments at so many different places through the help of Metro Mobility. To help me continue on this recovery journey which I am fully committed to, and to avoid the challenges of inconsistencies I experience often with Metto Mobility, I am humbly asking for your financial support to help me to acquire a van, equipped with a carrier for people with disabilities like me, to help get to all my appointments as required and also, to continue participating in my community activities as I have for 40 years.

I am calling on the community, family and friends to help me achieve this dream of necessity. I will appreciate it and forever be grateful to you.
