Support Wenafer's Double Transplant Journey

Story

Dear friends and family, My name is Wenafer Hagans, most people refer to me as Trachia. I have congested Heart Failure along with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease. This illness has really impacted my life to the point where I cannot work anymore and I am currently on peritoneal dialysis. My condition is at the point where I need a double transplant to save my life. I have been placed on the transplant list and I could be called at any given time to have the transplant, the good thing is I am eligible to receive both organs from one donor. In the event that I do, I will have to stay in the hospital for a month and two more months in Gainesville, because of the severity of the surgery I will occur a lot of expenses that is associated with my transplant. The transplant is high risk and after my surgery as I mentioned before, I will have to stay in Gainesville for two months where I would have to rent a house. I cannot stay in a hotel because I will not be able to be around people for a while because of the heart part of the transplant. My body will be susceptible to anything foreign. I also would need a caregiver for that period and fees for travel to physical therapy and Dr. Visits. I will be in need of some medicines that I already know my insurance won’t cover fully.
