Sometimes life deals blows so cruel, it's hard to even put into words.

Welma Casteneva is in Los Angeles fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer and is undergoing intensive, life-saving treatment far from home. She is a devoted mother, a beautiful soul, and the heart of her family.

Back home in Texas, her two sons—Jonathan and Christopher—were being lovingly cared for by their father, Carlos. Despite the pain of separation, they found strength in each other and held tightly to the hope that their mom would get better and come home.

But then, the unthinkable happened.

In August, Carlos was taken by immigration authorities and is now being held at the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Texas. There is currently no hope for his release. Overnight, Jonathan and Christopher lost their only remaining parent at home. They are now in a temporary living situation, doing their best to hold onto a sense of normalcy while their world falls apart.

These boys are kind, resilient, and full of love—but they need help.

They are now facing overwhelming uncertainty and urgent financial strain. We are asking for donations to help them cover the most basic and essential needs:
