As many of you know our friend and Designated Broker, Wednesday Enriquez, lost her husband to cancer in October 2024. At the same time, she and the girls lost their health insurance. Less than a year later, before they were able to get health insurance again, Wednesday was diagnosed with stage 2 lung cancer. As a lifelong nonsmoker, this was a little shocking to say the least.
Beyond the emotional toll this has taken on Wednesday, Mia, and Sophie, it has come with the difficult financial burdens that often arise when someone has a health crisis. Wednesday has done her best to navigate the situation, looking for any and all available assistance to get through treatment. However, the medical bills are still mounting. Wednesday was able to obtain health insurance as of Feb. 1st, but that comes with high premiums and high deductibles.
So where is Wednesday at in her journey? She has completed 7 rounds of chemo to shrink the tumor. The PET scan on Jan. 14th confirmed the tumor has shrunk and she has been cleared for surgery, which will occur on March 26th. During surgery, they will remove 70% of her right lung, therefore removing the tumor as well.
With ever-rising medical bills and a high deductible needed for surgery, she could really use your help. If you are able to support Wednesday through surgery, she and her daughters would be forever grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read, share, and contribute in any way possible.
